Embracing My Title As Writer: Gaining Confidence and Self-Acceptance on My Writing Journey
I'm not aspiring anymore!
I just got done reading a blog post in which the author writes about the process of writing being a very personal process, and in speaking for herself, she will not be rushed!
YES! I agree. Because I really do enjoy writing, but it is the expectation of the writing that I compose that often gives me angst and makes frustrated sometimes.
Writing is a very personal and creative process. But every person's process is their own. Every paragraph crafted, either for a short blog or a full length novel, has its purpose.
In conclusion, I've often thought of myself as just an aspiring writer, but today I am removing the word "aspiring." I AM a writer. Period. What you prioritize you take action on. I know my attitude and approach matters a lot to. I should stop seeking outside validation and define my own creative destiny.
Wise words of accomplished authors
I'm in good company with these authors and their thoughts on writing:

“The useless days days will add up to something. The shitty waitressing jobs. The hours writing in your journal. The long meandering walks. The hours reading poetry and story collections and novels…. These things are your becoming.” —Cheryl Strayed
“In order to writer the book you want to write, in the end you have to become the person the person you need to become to write that book.” —Junot Diaz
“Don’t be a ‘writer.’ Be writing.” —William Faulkner

“As far as I’m concerned, the entire reason for becoming a writer is not having to get up in the morning.” —Neil Gaiman
