Life Hack: The Electric Toothbrush Water Drip Wrap

Life Hack: The Electric Toothbrush Water Drip Wrap

Sometimes I wonder if the whole reason I started this blog was to have a purpose to share with the world what I think is probably the best life hack ever invented. Admittedly, I hear my own exaggerated tone to this statement. But I emphatically maintain that for the niche audience of electric toothbrush users out there, this life hack is truly revolutionary.

Early on in my years of owning an electric toothbrush, I struggled with how to keep the base of the toothbrush from collecting a pool of water and remnant toothpaste, to the point that it would look like this:

While I am not a complete neat freak, I found this phenomenon pretty gross. But as gross as it is, I also didn’t like the idea of having to clean the toothbrush charging base every few nights. There are already enough chores on my to-do list every day. I thought to myself, “There has to be an efficient and effective way to solve this annoying life problem” After-all, isn’t that the gold-standard for what makes a winning life hack?!

Enter these little gems: they are no-tangle pony-tail holders! They are perfect! They fit perfectly, absorb any water that drips down off the cleaning head, come in packs of like 20 so they are very affordable, and bonus: you can color bling your toothbrush! They don’t mold, don’t smell, and when they do get too funky, you can simply pull them off, and replace with a fresh set.

After several weeks of use, this is what three of my wraps looked like. As you can see, the top one got the worst wear, but the middle and bottom two remained relatively clean. And best of all, the base remained clean as well!

I know in the big scheme of things a dirty toothbrush base isn’t the biggest of problems. In fact, I count my blessings that this pesky issue was on my short list. I believe, however, big problems or small problems, most every problem can have a solution. It is just about having the patience, curiosity and creativity to find it.
